Musical Theatre Performers Needed for MN Fringe

Another Opening, Another Show which is being presented this summer at The Minnesota Fringe Festival is seeking experienced singing actors (6 Women/ 4 Men) of many ages and types who move well and can perform comfortably in a wide variety of styles. A performer may step forward with solo work in one segment and then be part of the ensemble in the next.

The show will consist of the first ten minutes of five diverse new musicals in progress performed by a single, ensemble cast. This piece is being produced by The New Musical Theatre Exchange, a collective of local composers, lyricists and librettists dedicated to the creation of new musicals in The Twin Cities and beyond. As the group counts many diverse writing styles among its membership, the shows presented will cover many musical genres including classic Broadway, Nashville, Pop and Tin Pan Alley.

Another Opening, Another Show will be directed by Diane Mountford with music direction by Shirley Mier. Rehearsals will start in mid-to-late June with an opening performance on Friday August 1st and a closing on Sunday August 10th. All artists involved in this project will be part of a profit-sharing plan that will be laid out in detail before the first rehearsal. Depending on box office this could come out to a payment for participation that could allow one to purchase anything between a latte at a nice cafe to a fairly decent ticket to The Guthrie. Performers interested in being considered for an audition slot the week of April 28th should send a headshot/ resume to newmusicaltheatreexchange@gmail.com. We have a limited amount of audition slots, we hope to see as many performers as possible.
