Male Actor Needed Immediately for Principle Role

Regional premiere of musical coming straight from New York premiere to Minneapolis seeks male actor, age 21-35 for principle character role. Tenor singing range, some movement experience and comedic acting ability a plus. Great opportunity to highlight vocals in a solo ballad performance. This is a non-AEA/Equity role with PAID stipend.

Zapped by his cousin’s time machine, a MN ice fisherman accidentally ends up working as a valet for Phileas Fogg, a wealthy English gentleman, in 1873. Together they journey out to circumnavigate the world in 80 Days to win a bet. Boats, trains, bison, dancing apes, dancing girls, a sleigh ride, unexpected love, duct tape… and of course: KAZOOS all make this premiere musical one you’ll love to be a part of! The Art Institutes International Casting Several Projects

Advanced students in the School of Media Arts, at The Art Institutes International Minnesota, will hold auditions for their final short motion picture project as a part of their Acting & Directing course.

Fifteen students seek actors for short projects with approximate running times of 2 – 5 minutes in length. The students may use the projects for their directing reel, senior portfolio, and/or film festival submission.

Actors
Females: ages 20 – 55
Males: ages 20 – 55

Please prepare one monologue. There also will be a cold reading.

Audition Dates:  Monday, May 19 & Wednesday, May 21 (by appointment)

A lighthearted 15 minute comedy produced by advanced film students

Natalie faces her biggest obstacle to life, love, and happiness …herself.

Seekingnon-union actors for the roles of:

Natalie: mid-late 20′s, Natalie starts out disengaged in life, frumpy, unnoticeable, having learned at an early age to just give up when the going gets tough.  Thanks to a little push from her best friend (and a timely fortune cookie) she decides to make an effort to re-engage, and is met with obstacle after obstacle she must overcome to succeed. (Must love dogs)

Julie: mid-late 20′s, confident, snazzy professional, Nat’s BFF and #1 supporter.
Paul the Plumber: mid-late 20′s, underneath his slightly awkward and disheveled appearance, he has All-American good looks and a kind heart.  His motto- when the going gets tough, the tough get going.  Comes from a working class family, owns his own business.

AUDITIONS: Sat. May 3: 12-3pm and Mon. May 5: 5:30-8pm

SHOOT DATES: May 30, 31 June 1 (Main actors MUST be available for all shoot dates)

GOLDEN BOYS casting principles and ensemble.

Golden Boys is casting for paid performance opportunity of the premiere of a new high energy musical theater work. Original script and music by New York artist Horace Turnbull with direction and choreography by critically acclaimed Heidi Spesard-Noble.

Now accepting headshots and resumes in preparation for second round of auditions. Casting men to portray soldiers. One female role has been added to the cast. One older gentleman needed for Sergeant. Golden Boys tells the story of the US Army’s first racially-integrated unit whose mission is to boost morale through musical theater performances. Grounded in historical events this musical features full production numbers, an original script, and original music.

KISS ME KATE Auditions

Fridley Community Theatre will hold auditions for the Cole Porter musical “Kiss Me, Kate” on the following dates:

Saturday, May 10 from 1-3 p.m.
Thursday, May 15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 17 from 1-3 p.m.

Callbacks will be May 18, 1-4 pm

All auditions will be held at the Fridley Community Center, 6085 Seventh Street NE, Fridley, MN. A readthrough of the script will be on May 22, 6-9 pm also at the Fridley Community Center.

The rehearsal schedule will be based upon cast conflicts and will be announced at the script readthrough.

Auditions are open to everyone. However, the cast of Kiss Me Kate has no roles for children. We encourage anyone up to age 15 to participate in our 2014 Summer Youth Production of Alice in Wonderland Jr.

No appointments are necessary. Auditions are conducted on a first-come, first served basis. You will be asked to sing simple melodies, read from the script and learn a short dance routine. Come wearing comfortable clothes that you can move in. Please arrive at the auditions with a calendar containing all possible conflicts for dates between the audition and the final performance.

Please bring an email address that you are able to check daily and a non-returnable current picture of yourself. A snapshot is fine; head shots are not required. You will be notified if your presence is required at a call-back audition.

FCT is also in need of an experienced choreographer for the production; if you are interested, please submit your resume and any other supporting information to Tom Nelson at stagemantom@aol.com by May 4, 2014.
