Auditions for New Musical in Fringe Festival

From Devious Mechanics, the group that brought you last year’s hit musical “Teenage Misery,” comes a brand new, dark comedy musical that will debut in the 2014 Fringe Festival.

“Shakespeare Apocalypse” (Working Title) follows Peter, a grad student, whose rant against Shakespeare and the classics goes viral causing a worldwide retaliation against the Bard. Classes are cancelled, performances boycotted, and plays are burned.

Little does anyone know that this exact occurrence was foretold to be the start of the apocalypse. Enter a newly revived and angry Shakespeare, who along with his henchmen Ernest Hemingway and Jane Austen, are set on destroying the world for ignoring their art.

It’s up to Peter and his friends to stop them.

Directed by Ben Layne.
Music direction by writer Keith Hovis.

Auditions will be held at the Playwright’s Center on May 10th from noon to 5:00 pm, with callbacks scheduled for May 11th. We are looking for 7 actors – four men and three women. Age range is open.
